Fraud Alert - Fake €1,500 Energy Grant Texts

We have been made aware that some Credit Union members have received the below Fake Text Message, claiming they are entitled to a €1,500 energy grant.

The message includes a fake link leading to a counterfeit Credit Union webpage that requests personal details and PIN digits.

Shortly after, victims may receive a phone call from someone pretending to be from the Credit Union, claiming there’s “suspicious activity” on their account and asking for a One-Time Passcode (OTP).

Watch out for the following red flags:

Unexpected texts offering grants, refunds, or energy credits

Links requesting PIN digits or login credentials

Follow-up phone calls claiming “suspicious activity”

Requests for OTPs or verification codes

Pressure or urgency tactics

Please remember:

- We will never ask for your full PIN, login details, or OTP codes.

- Never click on links or share information from unsolicited messages.
